#What Crafting does

Crafting is the widest production skill. At a Crafting Bench you can:

• Carve bows and staffs from logs (the better staffs need a cut gem too).
• Make wooden shields.
• Make fishing rods for Fishing (see Gathering Tools).
• Saw logs into planks for house-building.
• Cut gems from the uncut sapphires and rubies you find while mining.
• Set cut gems into rings and amulets. Jewellery you craft always comes out magic.
• Forge Warden Key Fragments into a Warden's Key.
• Write Ashgate Scrolls from planks and bones, your way back to town from the field (see Ashgates).

Crafting is also the skill you use to build your house: every build spot has tiers that need a Crafting level. See Houses.

#How to craft

Walk up to a Crafting Bench, tap it, pick a recipe and how many to make. Gear you craft has a chance to come out magic, and the higher your level, the higher its item level and the better its rolls can be.

#Where to craft

• Emberfall has a Crafting Bench by the town square.
• Stiltwater, Kindlehold and Hollowmere have one too.

#Training tips

• Planks are quick, cheap XP, and you'll need piles of them for your house anyway.
• Building your house gives big Crafting XP for every tier you build, on top of what the house does for you.
• Cut gems pay well. Keep the uncut gems that turn up while you mine.
• Jewellery always rolls magic, so it's a steady way to make something worth Price Checking.
• Crafting can turn up a rare Gem Crab.
