Items & Loot

Loot Filter & Auto-loot

Choose which gear shows on the ground, highlight what you hunt with colours and sounds, and let auto-loot pick up only what you want.

Why filter loot?

Once you're fighting big packs, the ground fills with gear, and most of it is junk you'd only sell. The loot filter decides which items get a name on the ground. Hidden items still drop (they're yours for a while, like all your loot), but they have no label, make no sound, and auto-loot leaves them alone, so your bag stays free for the good stuff.

Open it from Settings → Loot filter, or press V on a computer. It works the same on phones and computers.

Presets

Pick a ready-made filter to start:

PresetWhat it does
Show everythingEvery item gets a label. Uniques are highlighted.
Hide NormalPlain white gear stays unlabelled, except socketed bases (shown in lilac: rune word material).
Rares and upOnly rares and uniques are shown; rares get a yellow border and a bell.
Upgrades onlyOnly gear that's better than what you wear (plus anything unidentified, and uniques).
Late gameHides low-tier bases entirely; highlights high-tier rares and jewellery.

Change anything and it becomes your own Custom filter. Type a name and press Save to keep it as a named preset of your own; tap a saved preset to switch to it, or the bin to delete it.

Rules

A filter is a list of rules, checked from top to bottom. The first rule that fits an item decides what happens to it. Each rule can match on:

  • Rarity: Normal, Magic, Rare, Unique (pick none to match any).
  • Slot: weapon, off-hand, helm, body, gloves, boots, ring, amulet, or one of the three gathering tools (pickaxe, axe, fishing rod).
  • Base tier: from tier 1 (bronze and other starter gear) up to tier 8 (kingsteel and the other top bases). Higher tiers need more levels to wear and drop from tougher monsters.
  • Item level: the level of the monster that dropped it (see Loot & Rarities).
  • Sockets: any item, or only items with sockets (see Runes and Sockets).

A rule either shows or hides what it matches. A show rule can also give the item:

  • a highlight colour: its name in that colour, with a thin border in it, so it jumps out;
  • a drop sound: a chime, bell, fanfare, horn or spark instead of the usual rarity sound (or silence). Tapping a sound plays it.

Use the arrows to move a rule up or down, the switch to turn it off for a while, and the bin to delete it. Anything no rule fits follows the Items no rule fits setting (show or hide).

Always and never

  • Uniques are always shown, whatever the rules say, and so are Gold Pouches.
  • Only upgrades hides identified gear that isn't better than what you wear in that slot (a bow is never an "upgrade" for a sword fighter). Unidentified rares can't be judged until you read a scroll, so they stay visible.

Auto-loot

With Auto-loot on, your hero picks up gear they walk over, and walks to nearby gear when no enemies are close. Auto-loot only ever takes items the filter shows. Turn Auto-loot off and gear stays on the ground until you tap or click it. Gold and materials always fly into your pouch on their own.

Tapping or clicking a labelled item always picks it up, whether auto-loot is on or not. To pick up a hidden item, reveal it first (see below).

Seeing what hidden loot is there

  • Computer: hold Alt and hidden items appear, greyed out. You can click them to pick them up while Alt is held.
  • Phone: switch the loot filter off (Settings → Loot filter) and everything is labelled again.

Vendor value

Every label on the ground ends with what a merchant would pay for the item, in gold, and so does the tooltip when you hover over it. Rarer items, higher item levels and higher-tier bases are worth more; unidentified items sell for less. It's the quickest way to spot junk. Turn the label value off with Vendor value on labels in the loot filter.

Saved where?

Your loot filter is saved on this device, like your other settings, so every hero you play on it uses the same filter. Walking over gear follows exactly the same rules as the labels, so what auto-loot picks up always matches what you see.
