Sunscorch Desert
Dunes, raiders and a buried king, west of Emberfall. The first region beyond the ashlands.

- Monster levels: 12–22

The Sunken Tomb and
Raider Hideout
Qadir Oasis
A ring of palms and cool water, and the only shade for miles. Qadir has a waystone, a Bounty Board, a Bank Chest, a Cooking Range and a Furnace, and two merchants:
- Zaid: potions, Identify Scrolls and Ashgate Scrolls. "The sun takes your water. I sell it back."
- Yusra: magic longbows, gloves and boots. "A good bow outlives three owners."
Monsters
Sunscale Lizardfolk: Sunscale hunters with a long reach.
Dune Raider: sturdy desert bandits.
Dune Viper: fast, fragile and quick to bite.
Sand Burrower: burrowers that spit from a distance.
Skilling
- Mining: iron and coal.
- Woodcutting: maple.
- Fishing: trout.
Lairs
The Sunken Tomb
The Sunken Tomb (level 18). A king sleeps under the sand, and his tomb guardians still keep watch. At the bottom waits
The Tomb King.
Raider Hideout
Raider Hideout (level 22). The raiders' camp, and the lair of their chief,
Gorrash the Raider Chief. Gorrash keeps everything he steals. Everything.
Both desert bosses keep a rune of their own and can drop the
Sand Scarab, and in Nightmare they drop the
Sigil of the Sun.
World boss
Now and then the dunes tremble and
Sandmaw, the Dune Leviathan surfaces somewhere out in the sand, far from the oasis. Everyone in your world is warned a few minutes ahead and anyone can join in. It's built for a group, so bring friends. See World Bosses.
Tips
- Dune Vipers are fast. Don't try to outrun a pack. Turn and fight.
- Sand Burrowers hang back and spit. Close in on them or they'll whittle you down.
- The oasis has a Furnace but no Anvil. Smelt here, smith in Emberfall.
