#What Cooking does

Cooking turns raw fish into food. Food is what the heal button (Q on a computer) eats when you're not low enough to need a potion, and better fish heal more. See Cooking for every unlock by level.

#How to cook

Walk up to a Cooking Range and tap it. Pick a fish and how many to cook.

#Burning

While you're new to a fish, some of them will burn. A burnt fish is worthless and gives no XP. The more your level climbs above the fish's requirement, the less often you burn it, until you stop burning it entirely at the level in the No Burn At column below.

#Where to cook

• Emberfall has a Cooking Range by the town square.
• Qadir Oasis, Stiltwater, Kindlehold and Hollowmere have one too.
• Build a Kitchen in your house to cook at home. See Houses.

#Tips

• The heal button always eats your best food first, so carry a stack of your top fish for tough fights.
• Fishing and Cooking together are a fine pair: catch a batch, cook it, repeat.
• Cooked food sells well to players heading into lairs and Nightmare.
• A rare Hearth Cat may curl up by your range.
